Join conservation groups, activists and students from across the state for the 2nd New York State National Forest Protection meeting on March 31, 2001 in Ithaca, NY.
The purpose of this meeting is to work on and further implement our state-wide strategy to protect federal public lands from commercial logging. Such a plan could incorporate legislative organizing, public education, media, litigation and other components.
The second purpose of the meeting is to elect three state delegates. These delegates will help to organize the state, and represent us to the National Forest Protection Alliance.
We will try to recruit at least one individual from each Congressional district to become a District Contact for the campaign, and possibly one person from each group present.
Susan Curry from the National Forest Protection Alliance and Rachel Martin from the Allegheny Defense Project will be our main speakers.
