There is Currently a proposal within the Finger Lakes National Forest to open the entire Forest to Natural Gas drilling. The Forest is small and heavily fragmented, and we believe that this drilling project, if actualized, would severely damage the Forest. The Finger Lakes Forest Watch Congress (FLFWC) is dedicated to seeing this proposal fail, and to protecting the Finger Lakes National Forest from such projects in the future. The FlFWC is holding two public meetings to inform the public about this proposal and to present it's views.

From south (Ithaca) about 15 miles to Trumansburg Fire Hall: North on 96 through Trumansburg. Fire Hall is on right (east) side of Route 96, just past the P&C Grocery and Post office.
From north: Turnpike to Exit 41 (Waterloo). South (about 1mile) on Rte 414 to Routes 5/20. Turn right on 5/20 West and follow signs to Route 96 South in downtown Waterloo. Stay on 96 South for about 22 miles to Tompkins County line. Fire Hall is on left (east) side of road about 1/2 mile past the Tompkins County line.

Rochester/ Syracuse and points North: from Int 90
take Geneva exit, 14 South to Geneva. DO NoT continue south on 14 out of Geneva, instead get onto 5/20 east along the end of Seneca Lake, just east of the State Part take exit ramp for 96A / 414 South. Stay south on 96A along the East shore of Seneca Lake past Army Depot, into Ovid at signal light turn right to stay on 96A / 414 South. 5 min. to Lodi, then straight through Lodi now on 414 South, 6 min. to Valois. Continue 414 South ~3 miles past Valois turn left up hill on CR 2 (Hector Logan Rd.) This road is ~ a mile south of Sunoco gas station, will notice sign for Red House B&B. East up CR 2 ~ 2 1/2 miles to first and only Stop sign. Logan Comm. Cnt.(old church) sits on the South/East corner of this Intersection of CRs 2 and CR 4.
From Ithaca and points East:
take 79 West out of Ithaca , Stay on 79 West for ~19 - 20 miles( which will take you straight through Mecklenburg , Bennettsburg.) ~1mile 1.5 West of Bennettsburg take a right North onto CR4 (Logan Rd.) this turn is 1/2 mile before Burdett.Stay CR4 North 4 1/2 miles to first stop sign at intersection of CR2 Logan Comm. Cnt is old church on your right
All points south from Watkins Glen :
Take 414 North out of Watkins Glen up EAST shore of Seneca Lake. Stay on 414 North ~11-12 miles past Watkins Glen Fire House on right. Turn right up CR 2, go 2 1/2 miles East up CR2 to stop sign at CR4 . Logan Comm Cnt is old church building at this intersection.
