Don Hassig seeks Green nomination

The Greens/Green Party has a very important role to take in bringing about the great changes needed to protect Nature from further degradation and allow the Earth to recover from past abuses. As a pollution elimination/cancer prevention activist, I have the personality and experience that will yield a campaign based in activism. My campaign will create state-wide alliances of Greens, environmentalists and health advocates working on Green issues including: a Right to a Healthy Environment Amendment to the NYS Constitution, energy conservation/sustainability, dioxin elimination, chronic disease prevention, organic farming, anti-globalization, banning of the genetic engineering of plants and animals, and an Animals Bill of Rights. Such a dynamic, activism-centered campaign will excite many New York State residents and insure that we obtain well over 50,000 votes for our Gubernatorial candidate. I would like to share some of my personal life. I am an environmental activist, Nature poet, and subsistence farmer. My days are devoted to cancer prevention via elimination of carcinogenic pollutant releases to the air, water and land. Pro se litigation in matters of cancer data availability and Clean Air Act violation enforcement constitutes a considerable fraction of my current activism.

During the few waking hours not thus engaged, I raise a large fraction of the vegetables and fruits consumed by those family members living on our home farm, hike in the woods and forests of the Northcountry and write poetry about this life.

A Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Biology and Chemistry from SUNY Potsdam College was my starting point for the past 25 years of studies focusing upon the health damaging effects of persistent pollutants, including, organochlorides and metals.

I have chosen to limit my material consumption to the degree that investments from earlier farming income serve as a sufficient source of support.
