On an icy and snowy Saturday last weekend around 40 representatives from what Mary Jo Long calls "the green belt" (NY counties stretching through the southwest of the State) met at the home of Rachel Treichler's family in Hammondsport. It was an entirely inspiring event--the perfect antidote to the elections! We are planning for greater coordination and cooperation in the future amongst these counties--including sponsoring joint teach-ins and workshops, and networking/coming out for actions! There was some fantastic music, food and companionship! Our next meeting is tentatively on Jan. 12, and it will either be in the Montour Falls area or Ithaca. I will keep you all posted. Just know that none of our past labor has been wasted--we are growing, getting better, and moving on!
